“Stitched by Mitch” founder Mitch Purgason combines sports and fashion for pro athletes.

Forbes published their 30 Under 30 2022 list in January. This list of the year’s top performers includes 600 people who have been leaders in their respective industries. The list includes stars from fashion, entertainment, and music. The list also includes lesser-known figures in the fields of science, retail health, and many other fields. The Arts & Style section highlights Mitch Purgason (29), a Charlotte designer who has dressed the likes of Josh Gordon, Mark Cuban and Bubba Wallace. The path to fame and recognition for Purgason is paved with dedication and a keen attention to detail. He was born in Greensboro and went to Appalachian State University, where he launched his own clothing business as a requirement. He was required to start an enterprise in his entrepreneurial class. He was able to do this together with two business students. He decided to build inexpensive custom suits for college students. Through taking design classes as well as researching fabrics and studying with a professional tailor, Purgason founded Stitched by Mitch.

For his famous clients, Purgason owes much of it to his connections to sports. He was a junior at App State and was able to make it to the basketball team. He was able to meet former App State athletes who went on into the NFL. Even though he didn’t land his first NFL client until in 2019 Word of mouth has been a huge boost to his business ever since.

His suits are often distinctive Milanese buttons, various textures, and his signature emblem, “unarazza diversa,” an Italian phrase that literally means “cut from another fabric.” In an interview with Business North Carolina, Purgason details having in-depth conversations with clients in order to customize their customized pieces.

“I would like to know as much as possible regarding my customer. I seek out questions to help me discern their personality, their relationship with color, and what they want to exude when they wear clothing,” said Purgason.

His unique style allows him to create extravagant pieces. To go with her teal GWagon, he made Cassi Smith a teal-colored leather jacket.

Purgason is well-known for his suit designs, but he doesn’t want to be referred to as”the “suit guy.” Purgason has expanded his line to include beachwear, golf apparel and shirts as well as leather jackets, leather jackets. Purgason is currently enrolled in a luxury fashion management course, which will conclude next year by completing a tailoring program of four months in Italy. Purgason is also working on the show with an unnamed high-profile celebrity.

“I’m always looking to improvemy skills,” stated Purgason, “and you have to be willing to inconvenience yourself to improve and learn and provide a product you’re extremely happy with.”
